The DuroMax XP4000S generator weighs around 90 Pounds, which in my point of view is just the right weight for a portable generator. Some of you might think it’s a bit on the heavy side but it feels just right when you use it. The body of this generator is made up of steel and has solid copper windings. Featuring strong rubber wheels, side handles, and a fold-in handle, it is easily portable.

Powerful and Reliable Engine

As part of its excelling performance, this generator by DuroMax is equipped with a DuroMax 208 CC OHV gasoline engine equipped with 4-Cycle Air-Cooled Spark Ignition. As a portable generator with a speed of 3600 RPM, it can handle heavy loads and support multiple electrical devices at once, including refrigerators, computers, house lights, microwaves, and heaters.

Powerful and Reliable Engine

Furthermore, the generator is equipped with an air-cooled engine design, ensuring optimal operating conditions by promoting cooling and smooth performance with its four-point isolated motor mounts. To enhance its durability, the engine incorporates a cast iron sleeve and steel bearings, effectively maximizing the lifespan of the generator.

Control Panel

The control panel of this generator ensures easy and simple operations and functionalities.

In the left corner is the engine switch, followed by an oil lamp low warning and safety precautions warnings when using the generator. In the centre, you’ll see a Voltmeter showing the generator’s voltage output. Next to it is a circuit breaker switch that reactivates the generator’s normal operation.

There are also two standard 120v AC outlets for regular appliances and a 120v AC 30-amp twist-lock receptacle NEMA5-20R to power up your tools. A fuel gauge is located on top of the generator’s tank. Its purpose is to indicate the gas level. All of the operations on the power control panel can be easily understood.

Noise Levels

DuroMax XP4000S comes with a 69dbA noise level, which is considered a standard noise level for generators. It is neither too loud, nor extremely quiet but I’d say it operates quite nicely, due to its quiet muffler design and doesn’t make a lot of noise.

Accordingly, the generator passed the EPA test and is approved for use in national parks as well as strict CARB compliance, meaning it can be used by Californians.
